Bioinputs are biological products derived from microorganisms, plant extracts and other natural materials that help in agricultural and livestock production. They perform functions such as pest control, fertilization, growth stimulation and strengthening of plants and animals, promoting more sustainable cultivation.
With the enactment of Law 15.070/2024, which establishes a regulatory framework for the production, use and marketing of bioinputs, the expectation is to strengthen legal certainty in the sector and encourage the transition to biological technologies, reducing dependence on chemical inputs and promoting a more sustainable production model.
Responsible for regulating the registration of biofactories, importers, exporters and traders of bioinputs under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), the Law established that producers who manufacture bioinputs for their own use will be exempt from registration, encouraging self-sufficiency and the adoption of these solutions by farmers of different sizes.
